A Passion for People: Jesse’s Journey
When Jesse B. first joined Taco Bell nearly seven years ago, she never imagined how integral she would become to her team and community. “I worked a couple management jobs prior to this,” she recalls, “I had kids and was a stay-at-home mom for a while. Then I moved here and started off as a Shift Lead.” Today, she proudly leads her Weston, West Virginia restaurant as a Restaurant General Manager (RGM).
From Shift Lead to RGM
Jesse credits much of her growth to her former RGM, Kristen. “She played a big part in helping me become who I am,” Jesse says. “She made me want to do better, be better, and help people.” That mentorship fueled Jesse’s climb from Shift Lead to Assistant General Manager (AGM) and ultimately, to RGM.
Fostering a Culture of Recognition
An essential part of Jesse’s management style is recognizing both her crew and her customers in meaningful ways. “I do Employee of the Month, gift cards, and we even do a $50 gift card every month for our regulars,” she explains. Going above and beyond is routine for Jesse. When her AGM turned 50, she organized a birthday party, inviting friends and family to celebrate.
Such consistent effort hasn’t gone unnoticed. In fact, Jesse was featured in a local news article for being a community staple. “It sounds good to be recognized,” she admits. “To know my name’s out there for doing well—that means a lot to me.”

Beneath every party, gift card, or monthly contest is Jesse’s genuine motivation: to create an environment that supports people from all walks of life. “I didn’t come from a great family life,” she shares, “So I want to show my employees that there’s always someone who has their back.” Jesse also hopes her two children see her dedication. “I want them to know they never need anyone else to succeed—they can do it themselves,” she says.
Her best advice for others trying to build a tight-knit, celebratory atmosphere? “Appreciate your team,” Jesse says. “No one wants to come to work and have a bad day. Whether it’s a simple “thank you” or a surprise gathering, Jesse’s people-first approach keeps her store thriving.
