Bryon T. is Our Taco Bell Region Coach of the Year!
A huge congratulations is in order for Bryon T., who was just named our Region Coach of the Year! Bryon is a beloved leader here at Summerwood, and we couldn’t be more proud of all that he’s accomplished.
Coaching & QSR
In 2016, Bryon accepted a job offer with us after 19 years with another Taco Bell franchisee. And in 2020, he was promoted to Region Coach (RC) — bringing his total time with the Taco Bell brand to 28 years!
Given his impressive tenure, Bryon has a lot of invaluable QSR experience to share — and share he has done. “Bryon is an exemplary leader and teacher,” says Area Coach (AC) Lauren F., who reports to Bryon. “Every day, I learn something new.”
Lauren’s sentiment was shared by almost everyone we spoke to about Bryon. AC Bret S. shares that he even considers Bryon to be a father figure of his: “He doesn’t accept excuses, he accepts solutions,” he says of Bryon’s effective leadership style.
Turning Things Around
A large part of why Bryon is being named Region Coach of the Year is because of the recent work he’s done in the Pittsburgh, PA market. The area was in a tough spot and in need of fresh ideas to get things back on track.
Bryon came in with a positive attitude, motivating energy and a solid plan for improving the area’s restaurants. The only thing left? The full trust and support of those who would be following his lead.
“I knew what I had to do,” Bryon shares. “I knew we could fix it, I just needed time and the buy-in of the team.” Slowly but surely, the list of improvements and successes grew longer, and soon, our Pittsburgh restaurant teams had full trust in Bryon.
“Even on our worst days, [Bryon] builds us up.”
– Lauren F., Taco Bell Area Coach
“People started seeing that, wow, this guy’s not full of you-know-what!” Bryon shares of earning rapport with the area. Now, just over two years later, many of the locations are among Summerwood’s top 25 restaurants!
Staying Positive
Our success in Pittsburgh didn’t come without sacrifices on Bryon’s end. He speaks of weeks away from home and long, challenging days. But for the seasoned RC, all the hard work was worth it to see teams thrive — and we couldn’t be more grateful for his commitment.
Bryon, congratulations on being named our Region Coach of the Year!
