From Hard Times to Heart of the Team: Dawveed’s Story

Dawveed C. joined Summerwood Taco Bell as a team member and quickly became known for his positivity and drive to keep moving forward no matter what any day brings.

When asked why he applied for a job with us, Dawveed keeps it real. “I was broke … and I love tacos,” he says.

What started as a job opportunity during a difficult chapter in his life became something much more meaningful.

More Than a Job

Dawveed faced challenges he openly shares, including a period of homelessness and the loss of his mother. While navigating some of the hardest moments of his life, Dawveed focused on growth and accountability.

“I wanted to change my life,” he says honestly. “I’m into positivity.”

He credits a shift in mindset, along with support from his team, for helping him move forward. “I feel like they’re like family … I needed that.”

Now, his message to others going through hard times is simple: “Keep trying; consistency is everything.”

Giving Back & Growing Forward

Even while struggling himself, Dawveed found ways to give back to others in need, an experience that reshaped how he sees the world around him.

“They say you gotta be in a dark place to see the stars,” he says.

Now, he’s focused on stability and leading by example, inspired by the legacy of his mother. “Her energy was magnetic,” he says of her. “She taught me everything.”

Looking Ahead

For Dawveed, the future is about continuing to build upon the foundation he’s created. And he’s thinking bigger than ever before, now considering a management role with Summerwood!
