Summerwood Surprises Angels Outreach with $50k Community Grant

For the third year in a row, we’ve secured a generous community grant from the Taco Bell Foundation for Angels Community Outreach, a New Jersey-based nonprofit committed to helping individuals and families in the community facing financial hardship. This year, the organization received $50,000, which is $10,000 above their requested amount and double what was awarded in 2024!

“We’ve been so impressed with Angels’ many efforts to help their neighbors,” says Carolyn N., Summerwood’s Social Media Coordinator. “They’re very accepting and inclusive.”

This generous grant will allow Angels Community Outreach to
help youth year-round, not just seasonally.

The primary benefactors of Taco Bell Foundation grants are nonprofits serving youth, for they are the key to our future! In alignment with this focus, funding for Angels Community Outreach is usually earmarked for the organization’s annual back-to-school events. But because of the higher dollar amount awarded this year, a spokesperson for Angels Outreach said $50,000 makes it possible to have a full year of impact on students in need, not just heading into the school year!

“The additional $25,000 will allow us to extend our Academic Essentials Program beyond just the back-to-school season,” says Elissa D., Director of Angels Community Outreach.

True Impact

Angels Community Outreach’s Academic Essentials Program provides clothing, shoes, hygiene products, backpacks, school supplies and more — so that kids and young adults can focus on learning instead of all the things they’re missing. The impact of this year’s increase in financial support from Summerwood and the Taco Bell Foundation means …

… when a student grows out of their only pair of shoes mid-year, their needs will be met.

… when a teen heads off to college but can’t afford toiletries or a backpack, their needs will be met.

… when unexpected needs pop up halfway through the school year, they won’t go unfulfilled!

“I can’t stop smiling … I am so excited about this grant!” -Elissa D., Director
