Congratulations to Our Newest Shift Leads!
We’ve had a very busy fall here at Summerwood, and while it’s all been memorable, something that stands out are our Shift Class graduations. Two ceremonies took place in two separate locations: one in Conshohocken, PA and the other in Baltimore, MD.
What is “Shift Class”?
Shift Class is our Shift Lead training program here at Summerwood. Current team members that are working on becoming a member of a store management team attend class for two days after completing all of the Shift Lead in store training. During the class, they learn all about being an effective leader in a quick-service restaurant (QSR) setting.
What Does a Shift Lead Do?
Shift Leads are one step above the Opening or Closing Coach on the Summerwood career ladder – meaning that those who participated in the Shift Class can run an entire shift! Shift Leads act as the “go-to” person during their shift, meaning that team members can come to them with questions or concerns. They also assist their leaders with routine administrative and operational tasks. Shift Leads can oversee as many as 10 team members in a single shift, so it’s quite the responsibility!
We’re excited to share that 26 new Shift Leads graduated from the Conshohocken Shift Class, while nine new Shift Leads graduated from the Baltimore Shift Class. A huge congratulations is in order to all of our new graduates – we can’t wait to see what they’ll do next!
