Summerwood Goes Big For Thanksgiving

At Summerwood, giving back to our communities is something we take seriously — especially during the holiday season. That’s why every Thanksgiving, we partner with local Rotary Clubs to distribute meals to those in need.

This year, our team will prepare 250 KFC meals for seniors who would otherwise go without a warm, comforting Thanksgiving meal. We’ll make and assemble the food at the KFC/Taco Bell in Maple Shade, NJ, and the Rotary Club of Southwest Philadelphia – Eastwick will help us deliver them!

This isn’t the first year that we’ve given back in this way — the Thanksgiving meal tradition was started by the founder of the Rotary Club of Southwest Philadelphia, Lou Jackson, many years ago. After his passing, the torch was passed to us to continue his legacy of feeding our communities. Last year marked three decades of Summerwood and the Rotary Club giving back together!

We’re so grateful to the volunteers who stepped up to help us with this initiative. It’s sure to be a great day of cooking, giving back and connecting with our community!
